Robbie Keane 68m
Vieri 62.8m
Ronaldo 59.85m

i'm sorry, but what are transfer fees. Is that their salaries?
I believe that is the fee paid for a player when they change teams or at that is what I have understood it to be...
But I could be wrong...

yeah salary is on top of these ludicrous figures - especially given the current economic climate :tumbleweed:

Ah, like some of those buyouts/freeagent thingies.

Looks like soccer players are as over paid as baseball players.

Transfer fees are paid from one club to another for the player, like buying a used car but a bit more expensive

Robbie Keane moved from Tottenham to Liverpool in August 2008 for £20m and then moved back to Tottenham in Jan 09 for £13m although this will rise to £19m apparently, depending on how many appearances he makes, plus a load of other moves too earlier in his career. Their wages are on top of this.

It got me thinking about cars too. Take a Z4...

First owner buys it for £45k
Year later someone buys it for £30k
Year later someone buys it for £22k
Year later someon buys it for £18k

So in 3 years that car has a "career" fee of £115k. Where does all this money come from and go to, or is that the whole problem with the economy?

:tumbleweed:

At least the players have some talent they get paid for (be it somewhat ludicrous)

I swear if I had my time again I would be a football manager or a large bank director, and be told "your crap at your job, here`s £5.000.000 to buy your contract out, bugger off", and then do it all again for someone else
