Folding Mirrors upon lock

Hi, I have folding mirrors on my E89 (2014); works fine if I press the button inside the car, but doesn’t seem to be a feature of the lock function on fob.

If it’s not... is it codeable, and how would a Newbie go about it, or locate someone that can under this change?

Thank you!

Hi ZedConvert,
First thing to try is holding down the lock button on the fob for a couple of seconds. If the car has been coded, the mirrors don't fold if you press the lock button normally, so you might be lucky.
If they don't fold, the car can be coded for this and a number of other things. I think a lot of people use Carly to code their cars. It's what I used. It's pretty good, does diagnostics, clearing error codes, coding etc. The app runs on a smartphone or tablet, and they sell their own brand bluetooth OBD dongle, although I assume any bluetooth OBD dongle would work. If you look at their webside it does give you an idea of the sort of things you can do.
I think a BMW dealer can also do this but I'm sure there will be a cost...
Cheers, Dave

Where are you located, there is generally someone local with the carly app who can code things for you. I am in Plymouth if thats any good??

I have Carly and programmed mine to automatically fold upon locking the car. One quick press on the lock button just locks the car, and a slightly longer press and they fold in themselves. So it is definitely programmable with Carly. I'm in Edinburgh though, so can't help you out I'm afraid.
