Folding mirrors not working

Anybody know a way of getting this fixed without having to replace everything at the cost of £600-£800?

Had a quick look at this for Mark. It appears to be a mechanical issue as the mirror tries to move, but appears in the the wrong direction.

I wonder if a gear has broken. Seem to recall this happening to someone else but a cannot find the post.

They work intermittently, if it was a fuse would they both not work at all?

Sorry to hear - if it helps, I have a set of folding mirrors I'd intended to fit but won't be doing so now (too much faff for a weekend car that doesn't need them!). Let me know if you need/want them.

Drop me a PM with more details, price, colour etc, thanks

Hi
I fixed my 2005 Z4 mirror switch. It was a faulty solder connection on the switch circuit board between that function pin and the board trace. Re-solder and confirm with an ohm meter. It is easy to remove the switch, disassemble, and get at the board. Be careful to keep the rubber mat in place to avoid loosing pieces. Clean and simple.
