Folding door mirrors

For some reason mirrors have a mind of their own

To the point when the car is locked and left ,at some point can be a day or so locked up they start to unfold then fold up usually approx 15 to 30 secs between them

This then sets the alarm off

Seems ok when car unlocked

Only want I can stop them and not drain the battery by leaving the car unlocked in garage(learnt my lesson on locking in a previous post) is to disconnect the battery

Any thoughts appreciated

Sounds like it’s shorting?

With the alarm, you can disable it, think you press the lock button twice? :)

Well tried that and she still decides at random when locked to rotate the mirrors and set alarm off, lasted days on this occasion

I'm not 100% sure whether the double lock button will diable the alarm or if it just disables the sensor? Maybe someone with experience could add?

In regards to the actual alarm, have you tried locking the car with the door lock? I've heard this is an alternative to disable the alarm? The mirrors may well still rotate randomly (since they do anyway) but the alarm shouldn't sound? So should solve the alarm issue at least?

The mirrors will be a electrical issue, probably a ground wire, but will have to be trouble shooted separately. In fact its probably this issue which sets the alarm off... sorry can't be of more help
