Fold in Mirrors

Having just printed off the spec sheet for my car, I have the option code S313A Fold-In Outside Mirror....

Does this simply mean the mirrors fold or should they be the electric fold in type ?

If the electric type, how do you activate them ?
 
There should be a little button next to the mirror adjustment switch :thumbsup:

The switch should look like this one.

I have the switch and moved it to the other position but still hasn't moved the mirrors - is there a special trick to make them fold?!
 
You need the little round button, not just the slider...IIRC you can fold them in manually if you don't have it.

That switch only selects which side Mirror you want to adjust (glass)

The button to fold the mirrors should be next to it

Yeah, I just worked that out.....D'oh!

Is there a way to have them fold/unfold automatically when you lock/unlock the car?

Unfortunately not. Damn BMW :x
 
I think PVR has details of how an intravee can be used to do things like fold the mirrors when you lock/unlock.

Sure I read that in a thread somewhere... :?
 
Intravee CANNOT fold mirrors on he Z4, the mirror module is not linked to the ibus from which the intravee works.

After having one of the mirrors on our X5 virtually ripped off by a reversing 4x4 my wife wanted to get the mirrors to automatically fold/unfold but the nice people at the stealers reckoned it couldn't be programmed into the key.
The Zed has folders as well even though the previous owner didn't realise; I asked him and he said he wished they did fold where he parked in London.
 
As said, it works on E53 X5 but not on the Z4 as the signals are not coming through ...
