Ok, had my fogs replaced under warranty, took a bit of nagging at BMW but got there in the end
Also replaced the gear knob on my auto box, I think it looks a lot better but I am biased :D

Nice one!

That ties in really well with your trim, I like

Shame they don't do them in silver because the black wouldn't work in mine. Actually, probably just as well they don't really

Mr B
All boxed up and will be winging its way to you on Saturday. Oh and I think they do it in silver :D

You are a gent, thanks Rusky

(Though not for sending me off on a trawl of the net :headbang: )

the new one is much better..... i thought from the title this was going to be a rant about people who seem to think that fog lights actually do anything when its not foggy

How did you remove your old knob? It it a grab, yank, and watch your teeth exercise like the manual shifter? Isn't there some mechanism for the reverse lockout squeeze button that interferes?

I put mine in Drive, foot brake on, turned the ignition off then pulled straight up. Came off pretty easily, then you can just knock the base straight into Park. No dramas.

left mine in park the wrapped both hands around my knob and pulled  using my forearms as a lever on the surround and hey presto job done

Putter, polished daily

Big, big thanks to Rusky who has given me his old gear knob FOC. I yanked mine apart in the interests of the forum and discovered it's not designed to come apart... Got it back together but it was a bit more scraped and battered than it was before. The one I just received is totally - and I mean totally - mint, so I'll be replacing my knob with it later on today.

Complete star Rusky, cheers

(I have resisted buying a silver 1 series version, so far lol - if I succumb to temptation then I will donate this one FOC to whoever needs it)
