fog lights

Hi - welcome and do introduce yourself.

You can reach tghe rear of the lights through the inspection hatches under each wheel arch. REmove the bulb and warm then up with hairdryer to dry them.

Removal if oyu go that route is quickest with bumper cover offm which is just a 10 min job

Could wel be the case and especially with thsi cold weather. Teh headlight shoudl clear up once in use, but if not check the rear access panel is well sealed, no trapped wires and if damaged buy a new seal for a few ££'s

Look forward to seeing some pics

thanks guys , just been out to look at the flap to get to the lights and discovered the back and front wheels are the wrong way round 255 on the front and 225 on the rear ! so looks like the wheels are coming off tomorrow good excuse to clean every thing up 8)

Since such a simple things is wrong double check that the rears are 8.5j and fronts 8.0j assuming your running a standard staggered set up

the dealer had the wheels off to clean up the brake discs etc so im hoping they have just swapped the wheels over by accident

You'd honestly have to be pretty dumb to get them on the wrong way around, considering the difference noticable. you should check what else is out of place.

It's not uncommon for condensatin to form in the fog lights, I had mine replaced under warranty just before the car was 3 years old.

We have a 2006 facelift model with the same problem. Just run the car for a while with them on and it cleared up. (asked the same question here when we bought ours). I was waiting for PC Plod to pull me over and see if the excuse worked...."Honestly contstable i am drying out my foglamps".
As per usual the advice here is sound, just find which way works for you  . if your next question is about run flats i would do a search on the site. They are a bit anti them here

This is what the dealers do (for ten minutes), if it clears they do nothing, if it doesn't they replace them under warranty (providing you still have a warranty)

gave the car a good check over today , dried out the fog lights with a hair drier , come to do the n\s head light to find about 5 mm of water in the bottom so stripped it out and drird out with paper towel and finished off with the hair dryer , all the light now clear and dry
had all the wheels off , cleaned all under the arch s and brake discs\calipers and put the 8.5 j 255 on the back :?
every thing else on the car is good , the drivers seat bolster is worn slightly so might get this sorted gave the body a going over with poor boys polish which revealed a few light scratches but nothing a machine polish wont sort

One of my fogs has started to get a bit of condensation now too... really need to book it in to get looked at... problem is that it isnt always there :headbang:

Looks great... and well done washing it in this weather

if the condensation is going to be a problem ill make an adaptor to fit a length of tube to the hairdryer so it can go in through the bulb hole

But I think the condensation in the fog light will come back very quickly during winter months.
