Fog lights as DRL

I have a 2003 Z4 which i have understood is almost the same as an E46 regarding to coding etc.
I have xenon headlights which i have changed to the facelift type. I have also upgraded the light switch module.
Is it possible to program the light switch module so that it is possible to switch on the front fog lights so they can be used as day running lights?

As far as i know, it’s illegal to use fog lights unless it’s foggy.

get rid of them entirely and benefit from some front brake cooling. far more useful than front fog lights!

I've been running LED bulbs in my foglights for 3 or 4 years now. Unless it's blazing sunshine then I almost always just switch my sidelights on and then the front fogs. Make sure I switch them off at dusk. Never had a single issue with the Police or at MOT time. TBH I don't think you're average Plod would know the difference between a LED Foglight or a LED DRL these days

No, I didn't see that other SMG'd car round your way but then tbh I'm not really a looker. Was it on Ebay ? Was it a 3.0i ? If you can get one cheap enough then go for it ! If you don't like it or can't shift it then you could always break it and sell me the gearbox for spares !
