Fog lights and upgrade to M front bumper

Not sure that the M bumper is an 'upgrade'. Might be a downgrade. Personally, I find the standard facelift (2006 and later) bumper more attractive than the M bump, because the lines of the standard bumper follow naturally the lines of the car ... whereas the M bumper has lines that are orthogonal.

yes more attractive, but less agressive than the M bumper

well, a matter of taste - but still love the m-bumper with sterling grey. sterling grey is one of the best colours for the z4 in my point of view because it reflects the shape and lines of the z4 in a perfect way!

... and I have a prefacelift hence it's definitely an improvement. nothing is more boring than the pre-facelift bumper.

Just tested mine and i can have rear fog lights on without front fog light on.. and even tried it removing front fog lights and they also worked on the rear

thanks guys for validating. well, i'm a bit speechless.
i saw that it works for mine as well, when the headlight is turned on! i only tested it with side markers light believing that this behaves like the headlight mode.
so if i have the headlights on than it is no problem to trigger fog front or rear light separately.
hence i'll remove them. hope that my bumper is sprayed on monday because i'll start the retrofit immediately :-)

While waiting for the body shop for respraying the bumper, I prepared my car for get the m bumper fitted.

I detached the fog lights and wrapped the plugs into plastic to get it water proofed.
indeed, the car doesn't "realize" the missing fogs.

fitting the brake air duct was quite straight forward!

Well, I finished the retrofit.
Doesn't it look sexy? Now my Z looks very complete and except of aero skirts, no further modifications are planned for the exterieur.

have fun while watching the pics and looking forward to more "z4 m mods"!

Very easy can be done in less than a hour and once you know how probably in about 30 mins .Iam sure theres a post on here some one on how to remove front bumper.

Yeah there is but I just presumed some extremely talented members had tackled it leaving my skills with a broken front bumper

Did mine today, no trouble taking the old one off (thanks to the forum) also not much time migrating the front badge, vents, hose clips or attaching the brake vents - However i did have a tussle with the fitting of the M bumper. In short i had to trim the bottom tray as it was in the way of the new bumper, meaning i couldnt get a nice fit.

The number plate holder from my prefacelift bumper was too big for the M bumper - what has everyone else done for this? sourced the M reg plate holder?

PS thanks for the tip on the foglights, i removed the bulbs and plastic bagged them
