Fog light Condensation

Hi.

My fogs have got some condension in them. What is the process of removing them. I'd like to take them off the car and dry them out. These are facelift fogs by the way.

If you take them off just to dry them out, then they will just steam up again. You might be best off by resealing them with TigerSeal or thelike so that it won't happen again.

Thanks. My cars under BMW warrenty would this be covered?

Hi. I had mine changed under warranty (it was a 57 car and was still within warrtanty then). The dealers have a 'standard test'. Basically they will try to get rid of the condensation by running the car with fog lamps on for a set period (20 mins?)

If the condensation remains, they will give you new ones. Otherwise, it's not a fault, just a temporary 'feature'.

Hope this helps. (dealer was Sytner)

If you struggle - i have some wording which worked a treat with BMW HQ

Good luck

Do you think I could get mine replaced under warranty being a 56 plate?

Strangely, yes. I believe anything like that is possible in life. You just need to ask the right person and ask in the right way. Its truly surprising how obliging people can be.

... in this case, I would get in by pointing out that I've spent 200k in their dealership in the past and am looking to see how we can continue the relationship.

Foglamps you get...
