Afternoon all, I’m after a set of these to replace the fog lights on a Facelift E85, thanks.

Do these covers fit over the fog lights or do they replace the fog lights ?

Are the covers plastic, if so, has anyone then fitted aftermarket spots/fogs to them? Any extra lighting has to be an improvement

The covers are plastic. I think it would look odd having a spot light in that position (set against a rectangular recessed plate) but I might be wrong, I often lack vision.

If you’re looking aftermarket it’s probably easier and better to find aftermarket rectangular lights to be a direct replacement. Personally I never drive with the fog lights (and the number of times visibility is below 100m is so rare I don’t need them) so it’s easier for me to have no lights there. If I was going for improved lighting I’d upgrade the headlights, it’ll have a much better effect and be legal for use in all conditions (assuming it’s within the new MOT restrictions).

Yeah, I've got good lenses & Osram daylighter bulbs but drive a lot on unlit roads. The lights are just "OK" but some spots, (rectangular or round) would help, even if they wouldnt be in the best position poss. Easy enough to wire into main beam.

Having removed the fog lights from the bumper and installed the blanking covers I am not certain on what to do with the wiring and bulbs, my initial thoughts are to leave them as it (with the bulb removed and cable tied to something to avoid them banging around) and remove the fuse. At least that way if I or any future owner want to reinstall fog lights its easy enough to do.

How have others approached this? Thanks.

i put a bag over the socket end and cable tied it and then tagged it to another wire so it doesn’t wander.
Thanks, funnily enough I also did the bag and cable tie part too.
