Flying to Australia

Only been once and it was with BA/Qantas as we were doing a few internal flights around Australia and got a good package that way. Bloody economy class though, not fun at my height and with my legs especially when the plane "breaks" whilst at the gate at Heathrow leaving us onboard for 3.5hrs, no aircon, without moving, before even getting into the first leg of the journey via Singapore...

I've been told Emirates is the best option for economy class - reliabily by a mate who's sister lives in NZ.

Sounds like Emirates it is then

Now just to see if I can get the client to go for that and not Aeroflot or similar

Sitting in the business lounge at Bangkok Airport right now. Pretty good. Business flight from Heathrow via Thai air was very good (upstairs in a 747) but I think I prefer Qantas... don't tell Thai, I still have to get to Sydney this evening :)

Flew to Oz last year with Quantas and got caught up in the Iceland volcano thing on return trip. Were leaving Brisbane when eruption started so got stranded in Sydney. Quantas completely washed their hands of us for three days - "you're on your own, sir" - but then did a U turn and put us up in a good hotel for another week covering all costs including food and drink. Not sure whether that's helpful or not!
