Fluid found under car

When I parked up last night I noticed a small puddle under the car, on further inspection there seemed to be something dripping from dead centre under the car roughly where the handbrake is situated.
I had a sniff and it doesn't seem to be petrol, so any ideas - g/box, brake fluid or is the aircon likely to drip in that area.

Cant see ant damage and I haven't hit anything so before I head to the dealer and shout warranty suggestions please.

My car is an 08 2.0s

Airconditioning ...

Fluid = water defrosted from the condensor.

Been there and worried a lot the first time I saw that one myself

Yep, did you have your Air Con on (hot or cold)? As part of its function, it also de-humidifies the air in the car and will let it drip out underneath.

Is it completely odourless?? Put some on a tissue and check its colour. If odourless and clear its the air con. Engine/Gearbox have a very definitive smell and are thick... Engine coolant and washer fluid will have a slight colour. :)

Yes you are all correct, its my aircon the fluid is odourless and colourless.

Big sigh of relief chaps, Thanks to all

Heck, my AC removes so much moisture from the air (I'm the SE USA) that it will leave a trail of drips down the driveway THEN the nice big puddle underneath.

But I'm in the rainy damp North West of England so the aircon warms me up and stops the windows steaming cos of all the rain, doesn't stop the roof coming down though.

If you fancy a house swap let me know, ha ha

I found a puddle under mine once....turned out to be one of the guys at work chucking a cup water under it for a giggle...f*ckers!!
