Floormat Fitment?

Guys:

my preowned 06 'si came without floormats. On the base layer carpet, there are two rectangular patches of velcro that seem to be for fitting floormats.

However, when I purchased floormats from roadster solutions, it came with circular patches of velcro that don't stick to the factory Velcro.

Furthermore, the floormats from roadster solutions came with installation hardware that seems to require screwing into something. There seems to be nothing to screw into.

Am I supposed to screw into the factory carpet!?! Don't really want to.

Anyone have experience with these floormats? http://www.roadstersolutions.com/page66.html

It's the $87.95 one.

Is possible for you to put some velcro strips on the mats so they match up with ones already there ?

What are the parts like any pics Autostyle mats use a fixing system which works very well you get a round plastic part with a thread on which you put through a hole in the mat which you screw into another part that has a spike on which you pop through the carpet to stop the mat from moving around.

OEM mats come with velcro on the rear that matches the strips on the floor carpet. One good reason to stick with OEM.

I'd go with Gaz's suggestion and fit velcro to match.

There are of course many other solutions such as used on Ford and Peugeot that clamp expanding pins into the floor carpet but need 1" holes cutting int he mat and have visible 'caps'

Thanks for the tips guys.

I do want to just buy OEM now. Fitment is one thing, but I'm wondering about color? Do the ones at Roadster Solutions match the OEM color schemes perfectly?

My car is silver grey metallic exterior, with black leather interior and what appears to be grey or charcoal grey carpet.

Therefore, I ordered grey floor mats from roadster solutions. However, they came in much lighter than I had expected.

I am considering exchanging for black, but black floor mats on surrounding grey base carpet seems a little bit weird.

What color floor mats came with your Z4's (those with black leather and grey base carpeting)?

Black, but have now changed to winter firment which is the black rubber variety - easy to clean.

Here you go mate

The boot mat they sell is very nice so if you have to do an exchange i recommend it

argh your M seats make me so jealous Gaza :)

Thanks for the pic!

It looks like your floor mat matches 100% with your interior carpet.

I don't understand why mine doesn't?? Argh, I already exchanged from grey to black so if it still doesn't look right I will have to go to the stealers.

Why are roadster solutions' floormats called "official" if they don't match the color schemes of the cars??

Was lucky with my Z found the exact car i wanted and M.Seats were a bonus.

Black mats may look OK i ran with Black mats over light greay carpet in my Calibra

Looking at that pic i do prefer a more uniformed look now maybe they would let you exchange again for the boot mat worth a try and better than the mats sitting in a cupboard.
