Flooding - Whats going on?

I spotted a story yesterday about flooding in Somerset, a couple of weeks back it was in Kent.
WTF is going on with the weather there in the UK ???
Is this becoming "Normal" ?

Of course not. It's caused by the warm water in the north pacific. Which will eventually go away just like it always has. It's happened before. 1950's-1960's. Think El nino / La nina. Couple the record rains to the ones in 1790's England. The main difference is that currently there is a heck of a lot of paved over/ Developed areas that sheds water far to quickly for the eco system to deal with.

Remember there were glaciers in the lakes district a long time ago, Now there's rain. Who's to say what's normal. The same in America. There were glaciers blanketing the northern plains. Now there aren't any glaciers. Which one is/was normal? Of course we only look at it from the time perspective of modern records keeping.

As always. The government will not let a good disaster go to waist. In the end they will simply extract more money from the citizens then still not fix the problem. As these disasters are far enough apart that the future generation will have no memory of this one when the next one happens. And of course the citizens will be part of the problem as well. As they will demand that the councils allow them to build more homes in flood prone area's simply because it's those areas that tend to be the most scenic.
