Flood damaged Audi RS5 stripped

Odd story, surely the owner would have made atempts to have the car recovered.

Tim.

Strange how the resident drove past it numerous times and witnessed its demise, you would have thought she would have phoned the police and they would have done something about it.

Love it! She's taken pictures and not thought that's odd! Mind me never to ask her for assistance!

I'm guessing the police were aware of the car but as they had no reports of it being stolen then theres not much more they can/will do unless they actually catch any thieves etc. Just odd the owner didn't make any attempt to recover such an expensive car sooner, i.e. next day, I know I would. Could be the owner just wrote the car off and ordered a new one :?

Shame to see such a nice car reduced to that :(

Tim.

I saw this!

Seems quite odd that it wasnt recovered sooner and that the whole car was reduced to a mere shell.

Love RS5's - made me a bit sad to see it in this state

Makes you wonder if the theives were just people looking to make a quick buck or possibly the owner of the vehical looking to do the same or have a garage full of parts for the new one??

Yes you would call the insurance comp who would make attempts to recover it and you'd need a bit of planning and some equipment to get some of that stuff shifted. You can't just pick up an engine block with your bare hands!

your right you do need some planning but it doesn't take much to get an engine out of a car. if some pikey came along with a flatbed with a crane thing on the back of it and a few guys who were handy with spanners i recon <2hrs to strip the engine bay clean

stripping the whole car down is impressive tho but i guess if it was secluded and they had a few nights to go at it it could be done. from the looks of the pictures i would put money on them coming along, taking the bonet/wings/wheels off and simply cutting the front of the car off an lifting it up whole sale.

Sounds a bit off to me, if someone wanted that much off it they would have towed the whole vehicle and done it in the privacy of their own workshop

Sorry but I just don't buy the story as printed. That has been clinically stripped to that point as some of you have noted in the way it's been cut up.
Look at the accuracy and extent of the cuts to the shell and how little of anything is left.

Certainly not dismantled to that extent and in that manner in situ. If low loaded and taken away then why bring the part shell back to even near the scene?

Doesn't add up.

i also wondered that, why not just take the car whole sale.... ive seen a few cars go this route when i lived in L7 in liverpool. it woudl start with mild validations, windows smashed/graffiti etc, then bits like wheels would go and finally other bits but never a whole car. i still think some one chopped the front end off. and took it whole sale. it only took me a couple of weekends to strip the donor sierra i used in my westfield. but your right why not just take the whole car and do it in the seclusion of an workshop somewhere....

something very fishy about this story, the car doesn't even appear to have alloy wheels on in the photo that shows the car whole but under water. something doesn't add up
