Had to order a set, to replace just one that must have poped off.
At the same time i managed to order 2 sets Doh !

I will put one set on my Z3 and keep two as spares.

So i have one left for anyone that suffer's from the same problem. "Free" Which will save £60

you can pick them up for a few pounds a set, new on Ebay...

The cheapest I can see floating caps for is £50 a set. I don't think they make cheap Chinese crap versions of the floating ones yet.

Why do you automatically associate Chinese with 'crap' some, if not most of the highest quality products available, Apple for example are made in China. you might well find that quite a large proportion of Z4 components are made in China.

You can, the normal centre caps - not the floating ones though
Aaaaah, sorry I missed that, what is a floating centre cap?? Is it like those cheesy humvee hub caps that spin independently of the wheel? Can you post a link, I am intrigued.

I'm aware that China produces high quality items too. But the stereotype of Chinese made copies of questionable quality is there for a reason. The non genuine centre caps available on ebay all come across from Alibaba and are worthless junk.

Seems really strange that you are losing them. I bought a set on Monday and fitted them, they are dam tight to get in and the idea they might just 'pop' out is odd. Is the groove inside your wheel where they 'clip' in nice and clean, they can fill with rust from the wheel hub.
At £17 a pop its going to get expensive if you keep losing them.

The one's i'm losing are last years model.

These new replacement's have more clips and deeper clips. Agree they clip in with a pleasant security cluck :)
The old ones had a light grey plastic, the new ones have a black. I'm pretty sure BMW have iderntified the problem and fixed it :?
