Flat tyres

The kit i mentioned doesn't use the rat tail type. Obviously have a proper repair or new tyre , but they are great for a temp repair. Never had a problem with them if used correctly. Not sure if any repair is advisable if you use all the performance in a car.

Yes much more industrial as you say….can see why it’s very good for larger scale tyres…

Its fantastic. Very small, perfect for the z4 and will comfortably inflate tyres as needed and can charge off the 12 v too. Well recommended with run flats. Ive had run flats for 7 years in my x3 - whenever the warning comes on I inflate the tyre and get it repaired (naughty I know) but never had problems.

Some tyre depots refuse point blank to repair run flats .
My local fella has no issues - just hope I can find a similar place if I’m away from home !

Kwikfit refuse. others are happy if in a safe place and if you have pumped it up rather than ran on them. Thus the reason for a pump!

I carry an electric pump and a kit for installing the rat tails. Im hoping that any repairs will be done at home as to date any flat tyres Ive ever had have been noticed when starting out from home (none in Z4). Its a gamble that I pondered over. The car is a 'weekender', driven on day trips and is always garaged at home at the end of the day.

Other than the Kwikfit bit (I didn't bother asking them) that was my experience when I got one repaired on my 1 Series. It was a small hole in the centre of the tread and I hadn't run it flat, so for £10 I got another 10K miles out of it!
