Flat tyre force change, advice needed!

Hi All,

Just looking for a bit of forum advice on tyres / wheels.

I currently have Michelin pilot super sport all round and have been very impressed. Unfortunately, I got a puncture in the side wall on Saturday and so now have to buy a new tyre.

This is my dilemma...

The Michelin tyre will cost me about £180, and this will then force me to buy another Michelin when the other tyre needs replacing, (not for a while yet as there is plenty of tread left on the other tyre). So in the long term to change both tyre £360 (ish)

The other option is to buy 2 Pirelli P Zeroes for both front wheels now. This will in total cost me roughly an extra £282, then I will have Michelin on the rear and 2 Pirelli's on the front, (which I believe will not cause a problem?) In the long term, this makes sense financially, particularly as I would eventually stick Pirellis on the rear.

I had been planning to change the wheels when the tyres needed changing and was considering some BMW 313's. My current tyres are 235, 35, 19y and I don't know if this tyre size will fit this wheel type if I do find a set. If it doesn't, buying a pair of Pirellis to save in the long term would actually cost me more as I would have to buy another tyre size if I decided to put 313's on.

So what I would like advice on,

1. Does anyone have an opinion on the Pirellis over the Michelin's? I'm not a racing driver, but I do like a good sticky tyre!
2. Will 235/35/19 (front wheel) fit on a 313 wheel if I was to buy a set in the future?

The car is a Z4MC

Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks in advance...

id be putting a super sport back on.

Better tyres than the Pirelli and also you would have 4 matching tyres too which wont upset the DSC systems etc

Thanks for the comments, with no contrary advice I went for the Michelin, I will just have to make sure I buy wheels that accept this tyre size!

A few months back I'd have said put another MPSS on all day long. I too have them all around and love them. However they are now out of production, http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=91304 , so you may get one now. but when the other tyre is due you are going to have to find something else.
