After long studies online, I’ve successfully flashed the engine control unit with winkfp. Before anyone asks why, the reason in my case was a strange rpm jump with steady throttle at around 3000 rpm. This was actually fixed by DME flash and/or clearing the adaptations. The car (E85/3.0/2003) had original software when I started.
After my initial success with flashing the engine ecu, and since I’m now familiar with the process, I’m now wondering should I try to update other modules as well, like EPS or DSC or I definitely shouldn’t bother? I’m wondering if they are even programmable in winkfp, since while trying to read statuses (not flashing) of those mentioned ecus, winkfp gives ”no response from control unit” error. Reading the status in INPA works ok. However, there are newer ZUSB numbers available than the current one for both EPS and DSC, which suggests they should be flashable.
Anyone familiar why winkfp wouldn’t communicate with some of the control units, while engine ecu works fine? My cable and other settings should be ok I guess, since INPA can communicate with the car without problems.
