Flappy Paddle Price

I've just purchased a year old (Feb 2011) sDrive35i M Sport. The steering wheel has the push/pull paddles so that each paddle can upshift and downshift.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the wheel to the one that has the left paddle for downshifts and right for upshifts (the + - configuration)?

If possible to change, does anyone know the costs?

I don't believe anyone here has done this, its too new a model, though I could be wrong. Give the dealer a call, they'll give you the information you want. Get the credit card handy though, my guess is its likely to be in the £350-£500 range for a brand new wheel. Personally, I find having the option to shift up and down from either absolutely fine. Push to go faster, pull to go slower lol. Guess its only an issue if you've moved from another car that works differently. Having one function on each means you have to have your hands in the right places at all times, with the push pull, you don't.
 
Thanks for that. I'm at the dealership on Wednesday and plan to ask then.

I've only been driving in manual mode for the last 48 hours (only picked the car up on Friday) so it may be that I learn to love the system but having tested a Porsche recently I THINK I prefer the +/- system.

Holy crap on a pancake... I'd definitely get used to whatever paddles I had!
 
Give it time, Had the same thoughts a few years ago after getting my 335d , now it's just the norm & to be honest not very ofter you will use the paddles unless your out playing. :thumbsup:
 
I have both options on different cars and get used to either real quick.

If I were looking at such a mod I'd remove the wheel and do some circuit testing. I'd pretty much guarantee the selection is just a momentary on switch for each press of up or down (it was on the E85 because I installed paddles and E53 where I reversed them at the gear selector)

As such you may be able to simply cut and swap a few wires across.

This has already been done somewhere, possible the US forum where someone rewired the left paddle to reverse its action. Not for me, its taken me ages to get the car spot on, no way I'm taking it apart and having my face dented by an airbag lol.. I'm no looker as it is!
