Flakey Wheels (18" Split Rims)

A friend of mine has a 330 coupe clubsport with split rims and he has spent the last 5 years or so having his regularly sorted out at great expense!! He's very VERY anal about his car even more so than me :D so when I suggested he remove all the lacquer and polish the edges as described by a couple of peps on here, and he went for it I was slightly worried I'd recommended it so it would be my fault if it went wrong :( He spent a fair bit of money on materials, and I had to listen to him complaining for days about his sore fingers  but the results were amazing 8) I would suggest the process to anyone who's totally fed up with their scabby looking split rims. A really really nice result, and should last with a little bit of TLC.

I know, but my issue is the dealer refurbed them for me before I picked the car up, then has had to re-do them since at least 3 times. I think the dealer, not BMW warranty, should do something.

I have the same problem, it wasn't sytner in Nottingham was it or a sytner dealer. Mines a 57 plate so you would of thought the wheels would be covered, but because the dealer refurbed them before I collected the car they have voided the warranty on the wheels. I've negotiated £200 towards a proper refurb but that will only get two wheels done, so I have decided to get the stars refurbed and do the outer lips myself, they are currently painted and i want to revert them back to polished.

replaced wheels will only we warrantied until the three yeaar manufacturers warranty runs out, if you buy a wheel it would have 12 months warranty.
