Is this someone’s car on here? I know there were one or two for sale of late...

Little article from Pistonheads.

I drove this car at the dealer. Needs to go to a good home. Dealer has wiggle room on it and it was a forum members prior. It’s a non lux but it’s it’s an RS so yummy

I bought this one in the end. I liked the fact that it needed a few bits and felt considering the way the market was it would be a good investment at the right price. I picked it up 3 weeks ago and immediately drove it from Essex to North Yorkshire where it didn't miss a beat... I was worried about it possibly overheating with it being a Friday night and it only covering about 600 miles since 2019 but it was faultless (less a slow puncture, which I kind of suspected from viewing it, and fixed the next morning). Since then I've had the roof motor re-situated by Mike at the Zed Shed, picked up a hardtop from Wakefield and driven it down to Peterborough for work.
It does have a slight tick-over fluctuation on idle but I'm hoping that's a bit of air getting in and nothing more sinister.... booked in with a motor engineer later this month for a full inspection, Mike put it on the diagnostics and electrically it all seems healthy so fingers crossed that mechanically nothing major shows up too.

Either way it's a beautiful car and like one of you commented it just needs a good home..... which it now has.

Happy Motoring. :)

Congratulations on the purchase!! We need more people to understand the importance of these limited vehicles and save them. It looks like is has been well cared for. And I am glad a person on this forum bought it. Because it is sure to be loved and cared for as it should. Best of luck!

Thanks Gents,

Story so far…. Bought a hardtop (supposed to be sapphire black but was actually a bmw individual black paint…. DOH!!) so that’s now been resprayed correctly. Good news though that I found and bought some Webasto internal covers and the spray job is brilliant.
Got a clean bill of health from the motor engineers, but stuck a set of new plugs in for good measure so I’m very happy.

Just turned 68,000 miles and enjoying every minute of driving her. Feel privileged to join the rest of you in ownership of these beautiful cars.

Merry Christmas Chaps

It's good to know the car has found a home with a forum member and is getting some well-deserved TLC.

It looks smart so just keep enjoying driving. :driving:
