Fixing kidney grills

Just changed my grills to chrome/silver and on removing the old passenger side one I've discovered it is held in with silicone as all but 2 bumper clips are broken. I've held the new one in with double-sided tape for now. Any one know of a better fix?

The clips are around the edge of the grille itself, not in the bumper orifice. Do you mean that the lip around the orifice is damaged ? :?

There's clips in the bumper that the ones on the grill snap over..... Pic from net, exactly like mine, or it would be if they weren't broken.

Wow ! If they're broken what have they been doing ? :o The ones on the grille are much more brittle and the usual culprits

As per my initial post, I didn't break them, a previous owner did.

Edit: I read your post incorrectly, you meant previous owner, not me....
