Fixing front grill (with pic)

I am trying to sort out my front bumper since my altercation with the Meriva. Can anyone help with this problem please. Inside the holes for the front grills there is a black plastic surround which the grill clicks in to to keep it in place. They should fit flush against the inside of the bumper. however one of mine is loose on one side and is half an inch or so away from the bumper. I can't get it to fit as the hole in the plastic appears smaller than the lump on the bumper it is meant to fit in. I tried to take a photo for you to see what I mean. You can see how at the bottom corner it is flush, by the time it reaches the top is has pulled away from the bumper.

Can anyone help as to what I do? I was hoping just to get a smart repair on the bumper, but this is worrying me that I may need a more complex and costly fix.

Also, some of the plastic snapped off (you can see in the bottom corner), but I think super glue could fix it well enough.

Thanks

Thanks, I had thought of that but it would add at least the cost of the bumper to the overall price as I'd almost certainly need to have it resprayed or repaired.

Is there any way of fixing this plastic back flush with the bumper?

Anyone? :(

left98204, can't quite tell from the photo, but does the plastic surround slide onto the bumper "lug" and then secured by that nut? If it were me I'd take that piece out and get a proper look at how it goes together - if the bumper needs to come off it's not that hard a job, especially if you have a spare set of hands.

As for that piece of plastic, I got an electric soldering iron from Maplins and used an old phone charger plastic to melt and fold in as "solder". Just practice on something else first - cut bits off an old drill bit case and welded them back on. Works really well. Just get everything nice and clean first.

If you look at the mods link in my signature you'll see pics of the bumper coming off - links to Mr_Roger's how to - and what I did with the plastic welding - which is super strong when set.

Good luck.
