Fixing Adaptive M-suspension

Greetings!

Got my new Z4 S35i late last year. It did not come with adaptive m-suspension option. Got it since it is available on the "shelf" so that
I can take delivery immediately. Now I am contemplating if I can add it in outside factory fitting. Can it be done? What is the effort and if there
is after market option to add it?
 
I have read a post some time ago (I have looked but can't find it) on a German board (I guess) from somebody who wanted also to retrofit the adaptive suspension. The BMW service station told him that this was not possible. I assume that there is no service instructions from BMW to retrofit the system, what makes it very complicated to do. But I'm sure it can be done and will be very expensive.

I you find the suspension too soft I would go for a non adaptive aftermarket solution and lower the car a little bit also.

Certainly not as easy as 1 for 1 replacement as the various adaptive components must be linked between axles and respective sprung hubs - probably why no BMW site offers it in its accessory update section.

Lot of things to consider on a retrofit like that:

1) Wiring harness to the shocks and. . .
2) I've noticed from some photos of of bmw's with the adaptive suspension, such as z4, 3 series, 5 series, they have some black boxes that I'm sure are getting info from the ecu,
3) It's likely, the ecu would not be programed to drive the shocks - requires a flash to some other version of software, but which one?
4) Interior modifications for the switch requiring a mod to your console and again a wiring harness. . .

No doubt it's possible, but as noted very expensive, very difficult and no doubt warranty issues as well.
 
But I think the new M Sport model in UK will have standard non-adaptive M Sport suspension. Cars with normal suspension should be able to have those fitted.
