Fixes- Z4 3.0 convertible

Last year I bought a car that exactly matches your spec. 50k miles and is wearing them extremely well. I looked at several and none were tatty so that would suggest they wear pretty well.

I also used to have an S2000.

Z4 knocks it into a cocked hat in every way I can possibly imagine. Plus it's meaner looking, chicks dig it and it makes your manhood AT LEAST 2 inches longer.

(Disclaimer: not all claims valid for all customers)

Awesome thanks guys.

Obviously buying a second hand car , will do the checks from the awesome list from Alan J

Ive seen the z4 with the colour i want, and also red seats but its 83k mileage... is that a concern?

Not a concern if your checks don't throw anything up, and the service history checks out (sequence is oil service, inspection 1, oil service, inspection 2, then repeat ; maximum service interval is two years irrespective of mileage, and brake fluid should be changed every two years). If you decide you want it I'd recommend spending £100 or so on an RAC / AA check to weed out anything you may not have spotted that could be corrected by the dealer.

IMO if you get an S2000, one day you will pull up beside a Z4 and regretting your purchase. In a Z4, you wont even notice the S2000.

+1 on the checks etc, make sure your head runs the purchase cos your heart will rule the ownership. My zed is at 80k+ miles, and no squeaks or rattles present, still performs like a young 'un, and even after a few years of ownership, still has me grinning like a loon when I get in it. And when it's sunny and the roof comes down, life is gooooooooooooood

Thanks,

haha thats true... my heart will rule everything!

another question, someone said hard tops... are you telling me , i could make the convertible into a coupe by buying a hard top? If i do is it permenant and unlike the s2000 interchangable tops?

Not permanent, works the same way as the S2000. You're right though, none on eBay right now, which is weird :?

Lol I learn something every day! Would u say it costs 1k for all the gear for the hard top?

Should be less than that but certainly not more at this time of year. Obviously they get a lot more expensive near winter. You should get all the fittings when you buy one, and a stand & cover should come to about £200 ?

BTW there is one coming up on eBay, but it doesn't look like a Z4 hard top to me - no little spoiler at the back or 'grooves' from the ends of the spoiler to the front of the top.

Cheers bing :)

I have my eye on these 2.... both seem slightly over priced.. plus they are close to me.

Priced 6450... maybe worth 6300?

Priced 7k maybe worth 6600?

hey you got one witb red leather? awesome any pics?

how much mileage? and if you dont mind.. msg me the cost? haha

I wont be ready to buy until June... so i will keep researching in the meantime...

Did you purchase an AA check?

Not had a chance to take any pics will do soon though.

Reason i travelled 300 miles to buy it was that its 30k miles with a full history...!

I Paid a little more than your budget! She will be needing new tyres soon but that i can live with as i dont like runflats anyway!

I did a hpi check, mot history check, and checked with BMW for when it had been in etc. It all matched up. I asked as many questions as i could.

Then when i got there i spent an hour or so looking it over but yes an AA check would have been good. Or if the owner is willing id suggest taking it to a bmw indy, i spoke to a few when looking around the country and they were more than happy to inpsect h vehicle and send me a written report for about £30, id do that over AA. As the indy's know these cars inside out. That would be my advice...

no1beyondfan, look in the gallery section - you'll find loads of pics of Zs with red leather. Personally I'd go back with red leather, but then I'm biased :D

I have put a deposit down for the car and should pay the rest when I pick up the car this week!. wooooooooooooooooooo

Question: this person has a personlised number plate, Should I buy the one i want now and receive the V750 in 2 weeks. That means I would have it 1 week after purchase.

Whats the process and costs of transfering his plate back to him, and putting my own personalised plate on?
Is it £80 twice or once?

I know I have to wait for V5, then complete forms and send to DVLA... just unsure on the steps! lol
