You do have a point, and I commend your apparent desire to protect free speech and unconventional thinking  - however, the 'thinking' was just a bit too 'radical' in this particular case (as some of the other forum members said, 'bollocks'), and the way his statements were justified were presented in a way that made them very hard to be taken seriously.

Sometimes, you just don't want to bother arguing with people - if they're not harming anyone, let them live in cloud cuckoo land. If you dismiss their statements as 'bollocks' and they are so convinced that their point of view is valid to the point they want a debate about them, let them initiate a constructive debate in a way that invites comment/discussion rather than presenting a set of pseudo-authoritative statements as fact.

There is no need to ever pay a 'fine' for speeding. It is all a game of words and when you open your mouth when pulled over, you say things that instantly create legal joinder and you enter into a contract with a police officer (not a peace officer/constable - that is a different thing altogether!). You can only end up paying out because you consented to do so and created a contract.
There are a lot of people now waking up to this scam (it isn't just speeding & other motoring things) that we've all been tricked into believing. But don't be fooled into thinking there's an easy get-out-of-jail-free card. You need to look & learn for yourself and it is an astoundingly interesting subject.
Did you know that none of us on here actually own our cars? By 'registering' them we signed the major part of ownership over to DVLA, which is why you're referred to as the 'keeper' on your docs - it's not your car! More deception. Otherwise it would be unlawful for them to take cars with no road tax (another scam contract) and crush them (unlawful is not the same as illegal). Sorry to tell you folks, it's also true for those of you with children - you probably registered their births (signed ownership over to the government, which is the only way they're allowed to take them off you).
I haven't read so much bollocks since the political party manifestos came out.

x2...... and a great shame Roman Cloggs has seen fit to use the Forum as a platform for expounding his extreme political and incorrect beliefs. Fortunately (in the UK) we live in a society that allows and indeed tollerates people with such diverse view to express their opinions.

There is however a modicum of truth in his nonsense and that is with regard to DVLA and registered keepers. A registered keeper is not necessarily the owner of a vehicle but a person who has responsibility for its use and compliance in terms of legal requirements in the majority of cases registered keepers and owners are one and the same. However an owner may also be liable as a person who uses, causes or permits a vehicle to be used by others and to infinge the law. DVLA are never owners or keepers of our vehicles - why on earth would they want to be.

Roman Cloggs - North Korea and Cuba good places to live if your thinking of emigrating, I'm sure they need Pastoral Managers there...... :poke:

'registered keepers' and 'owners' were primarily defined for HP agreements, where the Lender remains the legal owner, until title ownership is transfered through payment of the required amount to the Lender.

DVLA are not owners of your vehicle, or you wouldn't be getting the cash when you sold it on.
