Fixed my fog light condensation

I couldn't be a***ed doing on the proper fixes - opening up the lights, drilling holes etc. So I followed a tip from Dale and just stuck cheap dark tinting foil from ebay over them. I quite like the way the lights disappear now :bag:

That does look better, id still drill some vent holes to allow them to dry out as being constantly wet inside is going to cause issues with the bulbs eventually

Maybe next year. I hardly ever use them anyway !

I only asked about Blue because my Z4 is Blue, and I also like how your fog-lights "disappear". But for that to work on mine they would need to be blue!

i just got some yellow tint for mine see how it looks later when i fit it on the fogs. Im thinking clear fogs may look best anyway though on mine being black car just going to try it for now. For MOT you just peel it off its not hard,

This time of your they will just get moisture back inside being so cold. I'll take mine out in spring and dry them properly.

Mine's blue as well. The lights will disappear into the black plastic grille, so colour match is not too important. Here you can see how Dale's disappear on a white car. In this photo my fogs are still pre-tint

Did you find it fiddly?

I just cut the film roughly to size. I then pushed excess at the top and outside edges behind the bumper. At the bottom I folded round the bottom of the lights. The hardest bit was peeling the backing film off the foil ! It's not really the neatest job in the world, but unless you are kneeling or lying in front of the car you won't notice.

Even on other colours black is the way to go!

i do think the clear light does look nicer on the black cars its a shame coverering it black so you dont see it

Generally I agree. But not when they are full of condensation.

Do they just fit over the existing fogs ? Or do you have to remove the fogs and then fit these ?

You have to remove the fog light and replace with the cover. If the front bumper is off I'm assuming it will be an easier job.

In that case I'll stick with the cheap and cheerful tint film. Any bumper removal time spare in my calendar is reserved for my E30.
