Fitting OEM cup holders

anyone done this? I think it should be straightforward, am assuming the plastic nipple thing in the top corner of the air vents is covering a screw head, so I need to remove this and the blanking plate to remove 2 screws to then remove air vent, and fix cup holder?

My concern is the nipple is quite awkward to get at, I don't want to end up scratching the vent, so want to check I am right about needing to remove this? And if I'm right, what has anyone used to remove it?

(cue jokes about nipples ...)

One screw behind the cap you mention, and another behind the blanking plate.

I got a flat-bladed screwdriver, and like Z4 Forum AMW said above, just put a cloth of some sorts around it so that it didnt mark the rest of the vent.

The blanking plate just pops off, if you get another flat object behind it. You'll then see the second screw thats still holding the vent in. Undo that, and the whole vent then comes out. Just a question of sliding the cup-holder into place, tightening the retaining screw that comes with it, and then reversing the steps you did before.

Job done, thanks for the tips

Removing the blank plate and that screw was easy, just needed a smaller screwdriver to pop the cap off the other screws.
