Fitting a trickle charger

I have my conditioner connected straight on the battery terminals. Been Ok for the last 10 years.

You can connect to terminals under battery if easier.

To the battery.

The standard Ctek bolt-on flylead is a little bit short, but if you seperate the wires anough you can loop it so it pokes out of the side of the battery cover. At least you can on one with a proper roof :)

With the MR I suspect you need a longer flylead.

Open the bonnet, Connect the Negative to the nut and stud on the off side wing. Connect the positive to the nut and stud on the rear wall. You may have to unclip a couple of lines and move them a tiny bit, depending on the size of your crock clips. You can feed any small wires out through the gap between the front bumper and the headlight. Then gently lower the bonnet, so that it doesn't fully lock down.

Longer lead not required on the MR (the one with the proper roof :P )

This was my solution. I run an extension lead into the boot and shut the lid. Works well.

Neet solution. My nearest socket is at the front of the car though. Convenient and simple to use the points BMW provided. :D
