Fitting a single din radio

I have a 2003 BMW Z4 with a business cd radio with an amplifier in the boot behind the battery. On fitting a single din radio it powers up but does not have any sound. Can any body give me advise on the wiring up to make the speakers work, it appears the amp might not be getting power.
Help please.

So, firstly, are any lights coming on on the amp? Check there is power to the amp. Because it's located adjacent to the battery, it should be easy to check if power is coming directly from it. There should be an in-line fuse holder between the amp and the battery. Check the fuse.
So, you have fitted a single din radio? Did it come with an adaptor harness?
Can you give some more details and maybe some pics?

The BMW amp has no lights. I bought the correct harness as the radio was powering. When I refitted the BMW radio the amp is working perfectly. I assume no power is going to the amp from the radio. I am hoping other Z4 owners have had this problem and can advice me how to sort the wiring to power the amp.
