Fitting a GruppeM intake.....2 hours labour?

Seriously 2 hours to fit an intake.....is that fair? Do any of you chaps have experience of how long it takes to fit a GruppeM to a Z4M as I am loath to pay £120+ for fitting.

It's something Inam considering taking on myself (No mechanical experience....)

Cheers

Christ 2 hours?! Took me about an hour first time taking it slow, though can dismantle and clean the whole throttle body/plenum/ICV now in 2 hours! Should take a competent garage 30 mins max.

Do it yourself though, instructions aren't great that come with it but really is straightforward, just take your time you'll be fine! Think there's even a few guides online, look for M3/S54 as opposed to Z4M specific guides, will be the same method.

It won't take long, it's also a pleasurable job too. No getting oily or grubbing around on the floor, just a sense of satisfaction from fitting a great sounding upgrade yourself. :)

From memory I would say it took me an hour to. Taking my time and working in a methodical way. instructions are crap.

Agreed that it may take an hour or so to fit for the first time. Should be quicker after that.

Definitely should attempt to install this yourself. Besides, you wouldn't want to pay someone an hour or two labor every time you need to have it cleaned, which requires removal/installation, would you?

please for the love of god dont pay someone to do this.... you will really enjoy doing this!!

Thanks Guys. I will give it a go myself. I found decent instructions on zpost.

I am based in MK.

Could you link me, chap? Thanks.

Thanks guys - Even for the mechanically inept like myself I was able to install within 20 mins!

Cheers for the advice. What a wonderful sound it makes too!
