Fitted my accelerator pedal two weeks ago - got to the steel brake pedal and literally gave up!

But finally finished the job - i quite like them - just a shame their is no footrest available.

That's superb, big improvement.

Is that a rubbery/grippy surface on the bits across the face of the pedal? Details/cost/link/part number? (sorry, loads of questions...)

Yep they have a rubber inserts, which go in under the metal - and poke through... i have used them with wet shoes (after washing my car) and they are still grippy.

They were for a 1 series... I think the part code is: 35 00 0 409 289:

I got them from the dealer while they were half price for £40... I was tempted by some eBay ones at first - as they come with a matching foot rest- and in hindsight these are much better as they have 3 screws per pedal not 4 - so less holes to drill in the steel brake pedal!

Brilliant, thanks :)

Ouch, full price is £80?! :o

<away to look at cheaper options on ebay>

Aquazi - ooh they look really nice! I like the metal look. How do they feel, when pushing, and depressed, in comparison to the standard pedals?

The accelerator feels exactly the same - but i can tell the brake and clutch stick out a little further - i even had to move my seat back very slightly to accomodate them!

I quite liked the look of the ST1 pedals here http://www.bmtown.com/Z4.htm but think they look a bit cheap after seeing yours. Oh well, look like another thing to add to the list!

Those are the same style as the eBay M ones i was looking at - advantage is that you can get a matching footrest (which if you can get one shapped for an E46 will prob require very little cutting) I think they are quite nice - only disadvantage would be 4 screws needed instead of 3 - but once the drilling commences it just requires patience (which is what i lacked!)
