Fitted non-runflats.

The car's two weeks old now with 400 miles on the clock, so decided to fit my Apex ARC-8 rims with Eagle F1 AS2 tyres (265/35 18/9.5" rears & 235/40 18/8.5" fronts) and take the 19" 326s with runflats off. Haven't tried them yet but I'm sure that the ride will be a lot softer! :)

They look great, what colour are they, they suit the zed very well.
It's called Hyper-Black but it's more grey-like in reality. Being roll forged they are much, much lighter than standard alloys.

I'd be interested to hear your views on the ride and handling compared to the run-flats if you don't mind posting a review, it's a switch I want to make once I know if I can keep my car or not.

I love the car. I love the wheels. I'm just not totally sold on them together. :(

I think the e89 suits a newer style wheel, and the CSL style wheels suits and older style car.

Just my opinion though, and if you're happy, then we're all happy

It's more about function than style in this instance, if the much lighter wheels also run quieter, don't jar my teeth out on cats eyes and perhaps even improve the grip then I'll be a happy bunny! :D :driving:

Likewise,I like the wheels,But don't think they suit the e89 as much as a newer style of wheel does.
Love the car though

Just back from a 40-odd mile trip on mixed A & B roads and must say that the difference from RFTs is amazing and very positive! Very happy with my Apex ARC-8s running the Eagle F1 AS2s. :D :driving:

Then we're happy too :driving: :driving:

Still gutted they wouldn't fit my 3.0 as I'd have snapped them off of you in a flash when you put them up for sale.

Still looking for something light, strong and good looking to run...

DLH i also changed the runflats on my 19" 326`s for Michelin PSS the difference is amazing. I had 18" csl on as winters & just felt they didn`t suit the e89 imo. Think the 326`s really suit the e89. As long as your happy

Fitted Michelin PSS all round on mine last week after 2 years on the RFT's, not only is the ride smoother but I've found the difference in handling amazing aswell! There are ALOT of roundabouts in my area and she just glides round them with a smile now!

I recently replaced my 18" RFT for Goodyears.
It's like having bought a different car.
The RFT are truly dreadful.

Totally agree folks  it is like a different car,so much more confidence going into roundabouts & tight bends. Pity BMW don't see it that way. I tried to spec non rft's when I specced my car. BMW emailed the dealer stating : BMW have designed & engineered the z4 to perform as it should with runflat tyre therefore the customers option is not available. Maybe we should sign a petition

Waiting to wear out my current OEM rf's and looking forward to the improvements that everyone who has done it say you get

Thanks for the update DLH

I have fitted hankook ventus v12 evo2 to my 19" wheels. So much better. Ride , grip ,handling. Its a no brainer. Ditch those runflats.
