ok, this is possibly a snobby question...thats coz I is a snob!

Does anyone make luggage sets that make full use of the boot space in the Z4 with the roof down? Or what do people use?

Can obviously just look around for suitable size bags etc, but wondering if anything is advised?

I just use soft bags (not rigid cases), then you can re-arrange etc as needed. The fitted stuff looks nice, but frankly, when you change the car, its likely unusable or problematic. Its also expensive as its hand made rather than off the shelf stuff. IMHO just go with soft bags.

Yeah, thats a good point.

Found these:
http://www.roadsterbag.co.uk/BMW-Roadsterbag-luggage.html

but they are £170 plus shipping, although you do have 2 wheely cases, so they could still be used even without the car...but the site doesn't give dimensions!

But for £170+ I'm sure I can find some nice soft bags!

Havent you already spent enough of options for the car Kevin?

Your wife is gonna be leaving you soon! :poke:

Good find.

The bags are going to just too big to use as carry-on luggage....

I'm not sure what the 3rd bag is for. Maybe carrying a towel?

With normal sized bags, we were able to fit one US sized carry-on + one european sized carry-on. There was a little bit of space left.

She's not leaving me, I have her tied up in the dungeon (kitchen)....

found that website through a google search...which came back to a thread on this forum somewhere!

Emailed the company asking for dimensions, and they replied within minutes, but said they cant give dimensions, but that the bags hold 116 litres! ok if I want to carry water....or beer!

Regarding carry on luggage...I'm thinking more of for when going away in this country etc, we've still got a 1 series which we can use for bigger bags if flying somewhere.

When we had our MX-5, we used inexpensive duffle bags from REI. Worked well. I'll probably cram that same duffle into the Z and Debbie will use one of our carry ons.

Her last email to me was

I think I will get the iPad -

iPad 3 (or HD?) due to be announced tomorrow....but I guess you knew that!

Ok

For ryanair with 1 X 20kg check in bag
2X cabin bags just right very light and holds 10Kg each got them from the coop£20 each + 1 Jeep (yes jeep) bag fits perfect length ways ebay £30

For 2 check in I use 2 Jeep bags either length ways or ide by side and 2 small ruck sacks

The issue is they can get damaged easily I travel 5 times a year and so find better to get cheap ones and replace them than having tatty expensive ones.

Last Z4 model had a lower boot space but atleast you could drop the hood with full lugage in.

Its that inportant for me that with the first z4 I put the cases in to ensure I could live with the car.

The last new shape I took the bags again to check. Looked stupid but its part of my life I can have enough boot space for 2 weeks away or 1 week on the snow.

Well if the rumours are correct, the main upgrade is the screen, but to be honest, the screen on the original iPad and iPad 2 are beautiful, so I don't think I'll upgrade......unless it accidentally gets stepped on?
