Just fited the first of my two Reinhold Modules, I did the one touch moodule.

Didnt take any pictures as it's not that hard.

Disconnect the battery, remove the ashtray, then one screw under it, and withdraw the ashtray/switch panel.

Cut back some of the factory black tape binding the wire and then connect wires as per diagram. (I will post this soon)

I used scotch locks, I know not everbody like them, but I didnt fancy using a soldering iron. (if you do use a soldering iorn do not use a mains one as it will earth the car).

Be aware though that with this module you do have to cut a pair of wires so you will definatley invalidate your warranty.

The only other thing I would say is that ensure you cover the centre console with a towel or something when working on this job to ensure you dont scratch it.

I have attached to youtube link of operational video I took. quality is not the best but, it isnt that easy to film on your own, but you will get the idea.

Functionality exactly as it came out of the factory, excpet you dont hold the button, same old noises, and same time to open and close etc.

Cant wait to use it roll on summer

ah, you done the easy one first :D

The best part of that one I found, was when you do an emergency close, you (almost) come to a halt, then press the button once and it all starts working. I find it very annoying that when you get caught out in the rain, you are trying to stop the car and at the same time pushing that button and willing that roof to close :) I miss that module on my current car as I had it on my previous one ...

I'd be interested in how easy it was to fit. I emailed the seller and they would not send the instructions until I bought a module.

So I have done nothing yet...

to answer both of the above I got them for £116 icluding postage, purchased the first from Reinhold via ebay and contacted directly to obtain second to save postage etc and was given a better price than the buy it now options.

I will post the wiring diagram up tomorrow night, it's easy to do just take your time, my only reservation was having to cut two factory wires.

The attached link (in italian) will also show you how both are installed.

the other one looks easier in a way as there is no wire to cut, I guess you mean the physical location?

what about the potentiometers are they easy to adjust or is that part a PIA

Any reason you havent installed thse in your new Z4, you may have told me but I can't remember

Very nice!
Is the speed (moving) interlock still maintained for top up?

Just re read this, and realised what you meant, will double check and let you know.

From PVR's post looks like it's possible to get round it to a degree

Thanks...
Like PRV said, it's a PITA coming to a *complete* stop before it will close.
It be good if the module would trigger a close, as you were slowing.

That is very cool. After I see your wiring diagram I might order 1 of these. If I think my very limited electrical ability can handle it :D

I have attached the wiring diagrams below, cannot see why Reinhold wouldnt give this info until the unit is purchased though, as it doesnt give anything away.

They want me to recommend the products according to the invoice, and I this this info will help.

As you can see from the one touch module you need to cut the brown/violet and brown/red wires

One observation of the unit functionality is that no matter what the window position when you open the roof the windows will go right up afterwards, I think it's the same when you close, and also recall sp3ctre mentioning this.

Wiring diagram for Remote Module

Havent done the remote unit yet, but it means removing ashtray as above (for central consoel & Cigar Lighter), and panel below glove box (for body module), the unit will be installed under the ashtray.

which wire is UP and DOWN? im guessing one thats cut?

i want to wire the UP/DOWN button to the switch I have which allows me to not hold the button when raising/lowering the top.
