Well after my first week of having my Z I decided to fit a AUX cable which I got off ebay. Thought I would do a how to, I'm sure this has been covered but my pic's might make it a bit easier for you if about to try yourself
First off you need to remove the central air vent.
You need to push the metal clip in the vent on each side downwards then gently prise the vent out.
Once out it will look like this:-
Now all you need to do is undo the 2 screws which hold the head unit it, then carefully pull it forwards.
Then you need to plug your cable in the socket at the back on the leftside:-
Now you need to thread the new cable through to where you want to fit the plug end and replace the head unit.
I decided on placing it in the trim below the heater controls. Just needed to drill a 6mm hole
Then you should switch on your head unit and check that you can get AUX when pressing the mode button.
Then put it all back together:-
Check it works when your ipod is plugged in! then replace the air vent by simply sliding it back in.
Then that's it
