Macca that is very helpful

So it seems that Dream Red Leather is for standard Z4 and Imola Red Leather is the Nappa version for them posh Z4M owners.
 
er, i have imola red/black but think its only standard leather, i am dead posh though in it

Agreed. I think the combination of manual transmission and having my seat set as low as it will go means my elbow would be constantly hitting this if fitted to my car. A pity because they actually look alright, and the extra storage space would certainly be welcome.

Mine is Imola red and a perfect match for the interior leather as Leather Z source from same supplier as BMW.

You do have to alter gear change slightly from arm alongside action to holding from above but it's easy enough. Great mod though and very comfortable. :thumbsup:

It depends how far back you sit. I'm a short arse, so I'm hoping it's not going to interfere with my driving!! :driving:

Also depends how low you have your seat, mines at the bottom so my arm is in the right position for the OEM armrest.
 
So I have been driving around for a couple of days with armrest and after a little adjustment of my seat I think I have found my sweet spot (thank god for memory seats), when driving normally with both hands on the steering wheel It doesn't interfere at all, in fact you would never realise it's there, but when cruising on the motorway it is lovely to sort of relax in an armchair kind of position.

All in all I am very happy with it, and have realised that the little sloping area at the back inside is a great spot for coin storage.

Here is a really awful photo of me sitting like a dork trying to show how it looks with a 5' 10 1/2" chap looks next to it. :oops:

So I ordered an armrest from Leatherz on the 19th May, and it finally arrived today (most of the time it was in customs and bank holidays), I have to say it was was worth the wait, it looks like BMW make it and adds some much needed minor storage. It comes with an alcoholic wipe to clean the parts that it sticks to with the 3m tape, it is very easy to fit and just makes cruising so much more comfortable.

No squeaks or rattles as it sits just slightly away from the centre console it sticks to.

Well I hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out, but looking at it, it does look like the car is "Happy", maybe it's because I fitted the armrest.
