just wondering would 5 series alloys fir z4 or not?sizes of the tyres are 225/55/17 and I think the alloy is 17 x 7.5" et20.

any advice is appreciated.

Even with that low offset, only being 7.5" wide i would say they will fit, but do you really want 17's?

And what style are they?

Personally I would say no.
They are the wrong offsets.
I believe the wrong bore so you would need spigot rings.
The tyres would have to go as the rolling radius is way out.
Oh and if they are 7.5 front and rear they will look hideous.
Apart from that they will be fine

Something from a E46/E90 or Z4 with 18" x 8" front ET47 & 18" x 8.5 rear ET50 would fit.

My guess is that they are for the winter. :)

photo from the net just to show the style :P

they are 225/45/17, no idea about the offset,I think someone else here had them on a Z,might be wrong though.

looks like Style no 157 - offset 34...

Gannet, can you explain how does this affect the way it looks and drives to my original 108's with offset of 47 front and 50 on the rear?I don't understand these things at all

neither do I

I just know where to go to get the offsets, in german but pretty easy to use: BMW Wheels

So,what is the correct or acceptable offset for 2.5 ltr z4? I wish they'd done a tyres & wheels for dummies :)

The offsets for the Z4 are 47 front and 50 rear but this is for wheels 8'' and 8.5'' wide respectively.
The position of the wheel on the hub is affected by the wheel width as well as the offset.

Just been looking myself for a set of wheels and the website I was looking at advised this set up

Front Setup:
Size: 18x8.0"
PCD/Offset: 5 x120 ET45

Rear Setup:
Size: 18x8.5"
PCD/Offset: 5 x120 ET34

I did see the ones for 18",but what about 17"?or 16"?

In my humble opinion 17s and 16s look a little small on a Z4.
You will still require a similar offset if you go for 17s or 16s but as I said earlier the width of the wheel is more relevant.

do agree with your comment, but they are not permanent, just for winter to save my 108's for wasting away :P
