Just got my gorgeous Z4.

Im so excited, I can't stop looking at it! Bit of a mid life crisis buy but what the hell.

Its a 2.0i M Sport.

First proper drive out was in the hills, had snowed through the night but the road was clear, the sky was clear too so off the roof came!
Loved it.

Ive lots to learn about this car so will be taking a good interest in this forum
:D

Welcome to the forum - lovely looking Zed and great colour  - nice pic in this months calendar comp

Edit: I would post some of your snow pictures on this thread too

Congratulations on your acquisition. Quite the statement to go top-down in snow conditions. When I was in flight school, my roommate and I would often take extended rides in his Miata with the top down, despite sub-freezing temps. Sometimes ya just gotta.

Also just purchased a bright red Z4, two months ago, but just joined this forum. At age 75, I no longer get excited about cars, or much else, actually. I traded in a 2003 Porsche Boxster S with 171,000 KMs on the very low miles (18,000 KMs) Z4 in the interest of avoiding expensive maintenance costs without sacrificing much in the way of performance. I have previously owned a 1999 BMW 328i convertible which served me well for three years with the only maintenance expense being to replace the battery. Other interesting cars in my past include a 1963 Morgan 4/4 purchased in 1964 and modified at the factory in Malvern Link before bringing it back to Canada, and more recently a 1998 Jaguar XK8 convertible for two summers prior to the Porsche.

By the way, I see a lot of UK members on this forum; The Brighton where I reside is in Ontario, Canada, on the shores of Lake Ontario. It snowed a bit here yesterday, but I was driving the Honda at the time with the Z4 and the Mazda MX-5 Miata snug in the heated garage.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I was up in Goyt Valley travelling from Stockport, over to Macclesfield then back over the top to Buxton and home!
I did wonder about the Brighton when I saw you were from Canada Brightonbrimmer!
Im highly jealous of all those lovely cars you have owned :-)

Rjsimmons, it really was fun driving with the top down in the snow!

Hi and welcome.

Looks a nice Zed.

You're very lucky to have already had the best roadster experience - cold day, roof off, heater on - can't beat it.

Enjoy :driving:

I don't find sub zero(with wind chill) and top down a huge issue....E89 has a really good heater and if you have them then seat heaters are good also.Usually cover my head and ears though if it's arctic.
Enjoy the fresh air whenever you can

Nice! Welcome to the Forum and I look forward to some photos of your new pride & joy! :)
