Just arrived for two weeks in the caravan in the new forest. Not been down this way before but looks good so far. Anyone from down this way got any pointers on where best to visit. Beaulieu motor museum is a deffo

Bovington tank museum is not too far away. Watch the Bournmouth traffic though. Have a good one.

Not sure exactly where we are as swmbo booked everything and I just nodded at all the right times. Its called Sandy balls which when i saw the name i had a horrible feeling we'd stumbled across a nudist camp site by mistake...fortunately everyone is fully clothed  I'll have a look at the tank museum. I think we've got a day planned at the navel dockyard in Portsmouth.

Go to Boulderwood if you like spotting plenty of deer. Best times are very early or the evening just before sunset.

Make sure you're nice and quiet and you're guaranteed to see quite a few. Just make sure you walk all the way round the back of the 'farm' and you'll see them.

Brill I'll give that a Google see how far away it is. I was surprised at the horses grazing on the side of the road on the way here

I used to drive past Sandy balls every week, on my back road commute from Portsmouth to Plymouth. It's on the West side of the forest. If you get a chance look up Zig Zag hill. A fantastic piece of tarmac that was also on that route.

Unfortunately I've not got the zed here...just my borrowed lumbering c class estate to tow the caravan and my work Renault trafic but I'll see if I can find it
