Not many more miles now Sars until you can open it up properly  :driving:

According to BMW it’s 2000 km before exceeding 4500 rpm or 100 mph, just to bed the engine and transmission in, so by the time I get back from Bristol next week :driving: :D
I went a step further than the manual, I changed the oil after the running in. Just as what proper M cars are required. Necessary? Maybe not at all. Just kind of my another strange habit. :driving:

I’m sure manual says 1,000 miles?

Either way, I’m still on under 500 so a while to go. Probably won’t get to that 1000 mark until jan!!

You are right. Just checked manual.

2000km 1200 miles.
Do not exceed 4500 rpm or go over 100 mph.

After that you can increase gradually. ;)

About this bit, how many of you increase the rpm or engine load "gradually" after the 1200 miles? I guess either someone just drives as usual, or explore the 4500-6500rpm range straight after.

Mine had a gentle 1200 miles, then I “gradually” used the rest of the rev and speed range. Right after 1200 miles I gradually pushed the accelerator down and gradually explored the rest of the speed and rev capabilities

Can’t wait to floor mine. I’m literally taking on doing my sons football training session just to add 40 miles at a time. ;)
