BTG 8.27min with traffic and not the best racing lines... I think I can do one more track day with my Pagid pads and front AP disc and then it's time for some new ones...

Bloody R8s are always getting in the way :headbang:

Fuchsröhre is not really the place to be having to overtake either

Good lap though! Wish I had full insurance when I go the 'Ring as I'm sure I could go faster if I wasn't so scared of wrecking mine or someone else's P&J.

Hopefully next year - taking a year off to save up for suspension, new bushes/mounts all round (including some Vibratech engine mounts from Byron), and possibly some Alcon callipers - I'll have a GoPro to go with Harry's LapTimer so I've got some decent video to overlay the telemetry.

BTW, are the barrier marshals more accommodating with the cameras this year as there was supposedly going to be a easing of the no camera rules.

Very nice, tidy lap; didn't much care for the look of that thing (don't know what car it was) which seemed to be drifting over towards you up at the exit of Mutkurve (about 5'14") ...

The pass on Fuchsrohre looked fine, you were going fairly slowly by then (having been slowed up a lot waiting for the R8).

Tidy lap. What was the spec of that Blue E36 M3 that passed you?
Don't know exactly... It was completely stripped with roll cage and semi slicks. I have no idea about power and suspension upgrades. The guy was quick and half way down he got really close, I slowed down moved over and let him pass me. It was fun between the two of us...

The thing was a Cadillac or some other American car... I took a little bit of the curbs to hold some distance between me and him.

The pass with R8 is not the best place to pass and it was a little fast, but at the time it felt fine with me... I slowed down and waited for him to see me clearly and move over. It was a limited edition R8 GT spider V10. He was driving all day at the ring. The problem with some of the "less experienced" guys driving a supercar like a R8 V10, Corvette, Ferrari at the ring is that some of them think; "I have a really fast car so I'm also fast on a track" . When they see a less powered sports car like my Z4M in their mirrors, they have problems with their ego and are less eager to let me pass and move over then other drivers. Not all of them are so, but with this type of cars it happens more then with Porsche's, M3, 1M, etc... A Porsche GT3, Nissan GTR and trackday prepared M3's are still the kings of the ring. There will always be someone faster...just remember that is not a competition, there a no prizes and driving there is only for the fun...

I put him on after the barrier... Nobody says anything about it to me. Hope it stays this way.

Stripped down cars at The Ring always highlight the fact that "to go faster, add lightness" is a truism.

I had that very problem with a Knob in a Nissan GTR last time I was at The Ring. He just wouldn't let me by him in my Z3MC when I was getting up his exhaust at every bend, and he was just using his acceleration advantage on all the straight bits between. :headbang:
