First real drive - a few questions & now photos

Hi AlMac

I'm a newbie too; Z4MC
Great cars, exceptional value for money. I sold an E60 M5 because it was soooooo boring!
I am glad that you have asked the same Q's regarding low speed, low gear changes because i thought I had forgotten how to drive a propper car with a propper gear stick after the DSG on the M5.
The best thing that I did was to turn off the traction control........... :D

I have been told that this was designed to allow stupid Americans to drive the cars without stalling. The clutch point is constantly battling with the revs that the computer takes over and you end up like a 17 year old on a driving lesson from the lights.

I still find it tricky to launch, at speed from 1st when in sport mode. Any suggestions???????

A mate read an article that said there was a fuse that can be removed that eliminates the nanny state device for the clutch/accelerator battle. He cant recall where he read this. Any thoughts from 'The Forum'???

The most important thing; I love the car, it has all the 'point and shoot' of an Elise (almost) but refined enough to hit the motorway all day...........(even if it is the M25!)

Cheers to all
Great site!
Great input............

Ade

Most likely referring to he Clutch Delay Value (CDV) which can be removed or modified - plenty on here about it via the search.

Nothing in the car that does that, it just requires more finesse in clutch and throttle control than many other cars, ham-fisted inputs will lead to jerky outputs. The removal of the CDV will slightly reduce the engagement time in rapid clutch drops, but there is no computer intervention outside of traction control that can easily be switched off.
