First post - second Z4

Hi All,

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here.

On our second Z4 now, having had a 2007 2.5i for two years, we've moved to a 2004 3.0i - love the cars, and have been an avid reader of (if not contributor to) the forum over the last 18 months.

This one is super-low mileage, though it hadn't been used much before buying it, so it's got a few little gremlins we're working on...

Chris

Thanks all for the welcome! :D Our last one was the very unusual dark green, also with a cream interior (I'm a sucker for the old-fashioned look), but I've fallen in love with the merlot red now...

I'll definitely be taking you up on the kind offer of advice bigwinn - this forum's a fantastic resource for questions and how-tos, as I already know from experience with the green one, and with a few rattle fixes on this one (wouldn't be a Z4 without a rattle or two... ).

Long shot but… you didn’t used to own E30’s by any chance?

Welcome aboard Chris.

Your Merlot Z4 looks fantastic on those 107s - enjoy. :driving:

Welcome, looks good! I actually made a more or less similar move; moving from an '07 2.5si to an '03 3.0i. So also from facelift to pre-facelift. Love it.

Yeah, I'm finding the M54 engine nicer-sounding, and more as I'd expect a traditional BMW inline six to be so far!

It's also an auto (no doubt controversial!), and feels much more of a cruiser on the motorway - the 2.5i always revved a bit high at motorway speeds for my tastes.
