First oil service

Anybody else have the first 2 year check. I got a quote from Snows (Portsmouth) £460 for the recommended - oil, air filter, aircon and brake fluid. They are sending a quote but it does seem a bit steep for oil and brake fluid! Not bad for 2 years use but I just wondered if Snows are in line with other dealers.

m999psw,i know i have the prev shape, but it seems very expensive to me,given my local dealer is £130 for an oil service/prev £160,prior to 4plus discount, plus £75 for a brake fluid change,so i wouldnt expect u to pay more than £260 for the newer model.(even inc an aircon servc).
maybe i am wrong, just my thoughts.??

On another note, are u going to manage to the Lakes/Dales meet again this year (1st weekend in July again).
be good to see u and your z there  :driving:

My May 2009 sDrive35i is due it's first (2yr) service and the dealer said it needed the following doing;

Oil Service, Microfilter Service, Brake Fluid Service and Emmission Control Service.

I've had two quotes from local dealers:

Scothall BMW Leeds
£355 inc vat

Sandal BMW Wakefield
£338.40 inc vat

No mention of a/c though?

Having my first (oil) service tomorrow at local dealer. Been quoted £206 for oil service, £260 if microfilter needed. They wont be able to give exact price over the phone as the key fob says what's needed. Will find out tonight.

Service inclusive was on my option list when I placed the order. :) No worries for 5 years/60,000 miles.

Not an option when I got mine. Barons have quoted £330 and said the aircon is not on the BMW schedule for the oil service.

My car was 14 months old when I got it and the all Inc servicing is silly money when bought afterwards. Would probably order if I had the luxury of ordering new.

Took my car in last night. They checked the key data and mine has to have the same as you described above.

Rybrook's quoted me £306 inclusive.

Service Inclusive even includes engine oil top up. After 6,600 miles, the oil level of my 23i is still at the top.

So do I! My Z4 spends most week days at home and I've still put over 11,000 miles on it!

I don't like being the caretaker of a car for the next owner! :P

By the way. Just had a phone call to say my car is ready. They have read now on the recommendations that the air con does need a service every 2 years! That will be due in April! May as well have it done while they have it! Another £90 please!!

Also they have updated the software on my car to stop potential long crank times when the car has been left (it did this once!). Apparently it changes when the fuel pump pressurises the system in the starting sequence! Took an hour to upgrade apparently!

The aircon bit is a bit confusing, Snows says it is recommended by BMW (if I don't do a recommendation if I have a problem I guess it wont be covered) and Barons say it is not on the list.

Just booked mine in for it's first service for March, almost to the day of a years ownership and 26,100 smiles. Paid the £300 for the service inclusive, however just wondering if there will be any other hidden costs not covered by the service contract?

+1, just coming upto 5000 miles, but I'll not use the free service before I sell the car :)

Whoever you sell it to will be one lucky person! Your mileage is catching up with mine. Even ksher has overtaken me.
