But when you compare this to the looks of something like this for the same money ...

Interesting you chose a sepang one pvr

Sorry - was described as black.

As the budget has gone up to 60k now, I present an 11k miles £59k example:

I certainly don't like black wheels full stop on any car.

Such a shame you can't get nice interior colours, if you go for red seats you get that awful dash with it as well.

The GT3's generally come with darker interiors (black/grey). I don't recall so far ever seeing a light and bright one at all. I'm not even sure if they were available even on the 997 version. I've got a PDF somewhere of the original GT3 brochure and options list, I'll have to have a look.

The black one above is Comfort Pack so no roll-cage, normal seatbelts, etc. They do a Clubsport option which is "free" but you need to have specified the Porsche nomex covered sport seat and you lose side airbags but gain the roll cage, 1 harness and a fire extinguisher. A bit unnecessary unless you intend to track it.

One thing is for sure - speed bumps are impossible to conquer in the GT3. Even the smallest one will ground the car :(

Nah...just get a 997 Gen 2 with the front axle lifting system...

A GT3, hmmmmm. :? Its more car, but not for me. I always think about how much i want to drive a car EVERYday. Im not particularly taken with the Caymans looks but I bet you can spec it to however you like it, down to the colour of the stitching and relish in its all round capabilties even on a 15min roundtrip to the shops. Small and chuckable is always great fun on the road.

The GT3 is like wearing a spacesuit on a plane, designed for a purpose that will frustratingly be unfulfilled. Maybe 4 days a year on average they will see Brands or Bedford.
I personally need an offset, like toys, comfort, plushness so that crawling up the A1 is a nice place to be to compensate for not being able to clip apexs all day long.

Surely the majority of people would want a lower end 'normal' Porker. Rich Saturday trackstar with Sparco playsuits hanging in there wardrobes aside :D

I absolutely love GT3s and those look gorgeous!

Although I wouldn't say they are easy to live with... Caymens a more rounded car for the road... But lets be fair who on here has a sensible hat on!?

Still it would be a C4s for me. Stick some winter tyres on it and those things are all condition monsters!

Went to have a look at a GT3 4.0 the other week and that thing was SWEEEEEETTTT!!! But we came back with sore backs ride was very crashy which you expect but for UK roads which are awful it ruined it :(

It would be worth a smashed spine to own one of those tho

When I am ready, I will drive a combination of them to see which one I would like best.

There is a white one here.

Very very very nice.

But definitely not an everyday car!

A Carrera4S is the sensible choice but the Turbo the best choice.

But then Id imagine no one would really buy it as a daily so PVR is right, the GT3 is the model to go for.

I still love the Cayman and its handling.

Extremely good car and very flattering.

There was a Cayman(black) with a 3.8 engine that basically annihilated anything on track bar a turbo/GT3 or exige.

Anyone read this on PH? Chris Harris refering to the Cayman at the LA motorshow...

'California is probably the most relevant place to unveil a sports car, hence Porsche’s decision to show the new Cayman. You’ll judge the design for yourselves, but the proportions are neat and the slightly higher tailgate line gives it a hint of Z4 M from some angles. The only real downside comes in the form of the Boxster – there was one a few yards away, and even though the Cayman is a seriously attractive car, it just serves to remind us how slinky the little roadster is. We’ll be driving the Cayman in February.'

I have to agree the Boxster looks better then the Cayman. Quite the statement in contrast to the old model :o :D
