Hello,

Not that exciting however done my first retrofit today on the zed, cruise control stock. Have to say it was as easy as everyone had said, simple plug and play. Next will be my Reinhold. :driving:

Thanks to everyone who has posted info on this retrofit! Second to none service/advice from the Z4-forum.

P.S. My local stealer tried to get my to book the car in for 'computer re-programming' for the cruise control to work, chancers

Hey mine too! They also tried saying something about an enlarged clutch match cylinder

yeah, they said that I may need a master clutch cylinder at the parts department, ignore them! Just get the kit itself (or the just the CC unit and reuse the lower steering column cover as suggested by a few) and DIY! 5 minutes job! I found it most useful on temporary speed restrictions on motorways (Highways)

Can someone provide more details?

How much are the parts? How easy is it for a total DIY novice like myself to do?

I have seen a scanned dealer instruction leaflet in the "how to" forum but I thought it looked quite complicated!

Finally can it be fitted to any car? I have an 05 3.0l SE auto but I don't have a multi function steering wheel.

For cars Built before Oct '04 it is really easy (5-10 mins) as the wiring is already present. Built after Oct '04 the wiring isnt present so it is much more complicated. The kit including the wiring and Steering cowl is £150 from a dealer. There are others that have bought just the switch for about £90...

You dont need the MFSW as the switch goes on the Steering column :)

Build date sticker is under the bonnet on one of the wheel arches...

Thanks, I guess mine will have been built after Oct '04 as it wasn't registered till May '05. I will check under the bonnet.
