Ok I have been thinking of a "De badge" for a while now but although I understand how to get the badges off what about all the adhesive gunk that's left behind, I understand it just smears all over the paintwork. Also the paint under the letters/numbers will be a slightly different shade so will there be an outline that can be seen (more obvious on a black car than a light colour). Any tips from anybody who has done it, any post preparation than can help remove the adhesive and blend the paintwork?

when i took mine off i squirted some silicone spray over it to help removal. gently prying, squirting, prying a bit more etc.
i could have just gently pryed it off in one go i reckon.
there was a slight shadow after removing what sticky gunk was left but nothing drastic and certainly nothing that stood out like a shadow etc.
gunk will come off with hot soapy water and/or wd40 and a sponge. then clean and polish.
get it sorted lad!

I've de badged 2 of my zeds now,
dental floss to remove the badge (don't use on your teeth afterwards)
Sticky stuff remover to remove the sticky pad residue
Polish to.......polish it up
Never noticed any colour difference whatsoever, great idea that adds to the cars looks

I used a hair dryer to warm the stick stuff up first then used the dental floss. As it was heated it had minimal residue and all of it rolled off easily enough. Bit of polish afterwards to blend it...jobs a good'en!
